Val & Elaine have tried to replicate a Lyons Tea House
On Tuesday afternoons at Broadlands Park the bone china tea sets & cake stands come out, scones with home made jam (made earlier with the clients by Val) cucumber & salmon sandwiches with the crusts cut off are served.
Ralph plays on the keyboard, a chance for a reminiscence session.

Knocking Through!!

On the 9th January the builders knocked a communicating door through from the ‘old house’ into the corridor of the new extension. Once the dust had settled & we acclimatised to the drop in temperature, we were able to start to visualise what everything would look like. The feeling of light & space was incredible. Broadlands Park has a warren of internal corridors & suddenly to see the wide corridors & all the natural light ( from sun pipes) it was startling.
The bedroom doors are being painted in 4 different colours to help clients with recognition & orientation.
We have chosen yellow for the en-suite doors & the disabled toilets.

December 2008 Building Work update

It has been a wet November / December causing the drive to become a quagmire. The building work is progressing well. We are giving conducted tours to the staff (with wellies on). Everyone is getting excited & looking forward to the eventual move in.
